Sounds impossible with the family around. Some outdoor space? Good luck. :)

Thanks Johanna...we thought about that, even maybe converting a shed. But it's too cold in the winter and too hot & buggy in the summer so it would need a lot of renovating. Can't really justify that since the house we live in needs work too.

I keep trying to get up earlier and earlier but I need sleep too, lol.

Same here! Good luck to us both. :)

Good luck! I hope hope you find a few minutes for yourself.

Thanks Dana -- it sure is challenging, isn't it?

Kayleigh said...

Thank you Tonya -- me too!

Cute image! --How about the bathroom? Hehehe...

Kayleigh said...

Jinky -- too funny! Listen, if my bathroom were big enough, and not the only one in the house, I would probably consider it, lol :)

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Just open up that computer and start pounding the keys, lady. Don't make me come over there with a whip.

Maybe it will be more quiet at summer's end.

Kayleigh said...

Ron -- LOL, okay, okay -- geez....you know, only another writer would see right thru me :D

Kayleigh said...

Mlissabeth - I wish, but my kids are homeschooled so summer is the same for us. Actually, I feel like homeschooling gives me more time over all, tho, because I do a lot less chauffeuring.

Hi Kayleigh, yes you do. How about a WOMAN CAVE like Soul Brush has? Her new studio is sooo nice. You could write in yours.

Hi Jim -- Thanks! Oh, and I saw that picture of Soul Brush's studio and expressed my deep and abiding envy :) Yes, I sure would LOVE a place like that!

Cosign on your six words! I'm hoping to move with the next couple of seasons and I'm definitely going to need a mom-cave/writing studio/office space (preferably with soundproof walls, but I won't be picky!)

Good luck on getting your work done and happy 6WS!!

Hi Single Chick...we've been looking for a new house, but finding one that meets our needs in our budget has proven impossible. I wish you luck in your search -- hopefully you'll get your dream space :) (and I hear ya on the sound-proof walls, lol)

I write for one hour every morning.
My children rise at 10am during the holidays so I start at 8.45am and don't stop until the hour is up.
Good Luck.

Hey Jane! (been meaning to come by your blog forever, btw)....I used to try and get up before my kids too -- but Danny figured it out and keeps getting up earlier and earlier trying to "catch" me. He's hard to resist and he knows it, so I don't have the heart to send him back to bed.

I think I'm going to find a corner in the basement, paint it a pretty color, and plop a chair there -- like a grown up version of a time out, lol!

I know this feeling too well!! My 11 year old and 7 year old make it hard to hide anywhere to write. lol. Thanks for visiting my blog. :)

Yep, I definitely know what this is like! I've managed to squeeze the laptop up to my bedroom on occasion in order to blog... Otherwise, I have been known to sneak in some blog time at work because there's less distractions there than at home! LOL (Shhh! Don't tell my boss!)

I have a hard time writing when stuff is going on around me. Too many distractions! :)

Hello Kayleigh,

Please to meet at last....Ooops, I'm very late on my SWS visit back this week. Well, sounds like the spirit of Virginia Woolf somehow is on my mind, (smiles ! ) well I hope you will find a room on your own quickly who knows maybe an exchange in the neighborhood. Well all my best for that and see you maybe on saturday.
