I have breast cancer

I know little else. The doctor phoned half an hour ago, said it was bad news, it was carcinoma.

DH went and got the report from her (she's just down the road a bit) and in looking at it now few if any words are familiar from my minimal research. There are phrases like "Infiltrating Mammary Carcinoma" and "Pseudolactational hyperplasia is focally present". They sound important, informative, but I don't know they mean.

We are making phone calls. Things are being faxed. Appointments will follow.

I am in shock. We are all in shock. Right now all I care about is living for my babies. My babies, dear God.

Okay, I can't write anymore. I'm sorry.

I'll post when I can.

Oh my god Kayleigh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm at a loss for something to say, other than I will be praying for you. Please stay strong, xx

Kayleigh - stay strong. Don't think of the worst possible scenario. Think of the thousands of women who have had the diagnosis you have today and are still around. I read this weekend that more women are surviving breast cancer than ever before and the US is one of the leading nations.
I am praying for you.

so sorry.

your friends can already see
the end of your battle
and whisper: you've already won.

there will be hard days, sure.
but you are alive and healthy
at the end of this detour!

Dear Kayleigh So very sorry about all of your trouble. I have never commented but have followed you from the start. Your writing shows a very strong woman, you have already overcome so much in your life you will cope with this. You have been in my thoughts continually and I just wanted to let you know how much I feel for you and your family. Very best wishes from Scotland. Love Jean.

Oh, hon, I am so sorry. I've just caught up on your last few entries and my heart goes out to you. Positive story: my friend Karen (featured on my blog this last weekend) had breast cancer several years ago. She had one breast removed and has had no recurrence since. Stay positive.
